Pipoja // Knitted hats

Olin työelämäharjoittelussa eräässä paikassa, jonka toimintaan kuului paljon erilaisten käsitöiden tekemistä. Opin neulomaan pipoja ja niitä valmistui harjoitteluni aikana kahdeksan. Ainakin.

I did my internship in a place where they made a lot of needleworks and crafts. I learned to knit hats and made eight of them. At least.

Omat kissalapaseni // My own cat mittens

Piti tehdä elukkalapaset itsellenikin. Mustat kissat, toki, koska suuret keltaiset silmät jäivät huiveista tuijottamaan.

I had to make a pair of animal mittens for myself, too. Black cats, of course, because the yellow eyes of the scarves fascinated me.

Mutkikas huivi // A scarf with a twist... or should I say a twisted scarf?

Äidilleni joululahjaksi. Rengashuivin on inspiroinut Möbiuksen nauha. Aivan varma en ole siitä, onko tämä Möbiuksen nauha vai meneekö tämä vielä kierroksen enemmän kierteelle. Kuitenkin, sitä voi pitää joko yksinkerroin hartioilla tai kaksinkerroin kaulassa, tai sekä kaulan että pään ympärillä.

For my mother for Christmas. The circular scarf is inspired by the Moebius strip. I am not certain if it is one or if it twists more than that. Anyway, it can be worn on your shoulders, two loops around your neck or even one loop around your neck and one loop around your head.

Joulua tekemässä // Making Christmas

Osallistuin nyt toisen kerran Nuorkauppakamarien Joulupuu-keräykseen, jossa kerätään joululahjoja lapsille, jotka muuten saattaisivat jäädä ilman pakettia. Tänä vuonna Helsingin keräys kohdistuu lastensuojelun piirissä oleviin lapsiin. Viimeksi osallistuin Vantaan keräykseen.

Tein yhdeksän pakettia, joista neljässä on kaksi paria korvakoruja ja viidessä yhteensopivat rannekoru ja korvakorut. Eniten lahjoja tulee pienille lapsille, joten halusin puolestani huomioida 11-17-vuotiaita. Kuvissa muutamia esimerkkejä tekemistäni koruista.

I took part in collecting Christmas presents for children who might otherwise be left without any gifts. This year the present collection in Helsinki is aimed for the children who are customers in child welfare.

Most people give presents for young children so I wanted to give something for the teens. I made nine presents, four of which contain two pairs of earrings, and five matching sets of bracelets and earrings. These pictures show some examples.
